just wondering if there is a noticable diff in hp between models. they seems to know the way to put 10 more hp every year,, also i saw that they did put 10 horses on but no torke last year.

Do you mean a difference of HP between model years, or between engines? I think you are probably asking about differences in the same models manufactured in different years? right? If so, I don't have a clue, but I am sure someone here does.

The 4.6L seems to be gaining horsepower while the 5.4L doesn't get any attention; although it needs none. It's already a torque monster and it's no slouch. I believe the 4.6 began with 215 or 220 hp and it now has either 231 or 243, I can't remember which. At any rate, yes, they have gained HP since their introduction, and I'm anxious to see what the 3-valve engines will bring.

HI!... The older 4.6's were rated at 220H.P (flywheel) while the newer 4.6's are rated at 231H.P (flywheel). I'm not sure on this but I have heard fron friends that work at FORD plants here in WINDSOR that the newer 4.6's now have the "PI" heads on them. That's supposedly where the extra 11H.P came from.

Yes Roundboy you are right. They make the same engine for a few years and always ad a little on it, like a bone for a dog ,,"buy the new one it´s got more power"..... i would think that they could easely take 4,6 L up to 300 horses.
But then the problem would be the year after 350 hp ???????

PS. Still the Q still stands..? is there a diff in power or is it just a sales trix???????
