check engine soon warning

2001 F150 4.6L 14K miles
Check engine light is on. What can I check outside of leaving it at the dealer? Truck never been offroad, in dirt or mistreated.

You can search on CEL or Check Engine Light and see a plethora of ideas, click on the search button above and you will be on your way...

I guess I shall disconnect battery. And see if it goes away.

Make sure your gas cap is clicked on tightly. That made mine go off. That was 20,000 miles ago.

Well I disconnected my battery and hooked it back up. This got rid of the "check engine" warning, and it has yet to return. I don't plan on taking it back to the dealer unless light reappears.
