Unhappy Fuel pump

I have a 1990 F-150 inline 6 and it acts like it is not getting fuel, I check the fuel and noticed that i can not hear my fuel pump. Question, for this type of vehicle, is there a high pressure pump and if there is one, where is it.

My 89 has a booster pump in each tank and a main pump on the frame rail under drivers door. I believe that in 90 on they went to a pump in each tank and no external pumps. You can get a fuel pressure reading from the test port on the fuel rail next to injectors. Key on engine off around 35 Psi is close to normal.
