Question K&N Filter question

Does anyone know if a K&N Filter for the factory airbox is the same filter for the FIPK kit? I bought the filter for the factory box, but now I am debating getting the FIPK kit, but I don't want to waste the $50 I already spent.
Can the FIPK kit be ordered without the filter?

I'm pretty sure it's different. You could always clean up and sell the drop in one and makes some of your money back that way.

The filters are different. The one with the Generation II Kit is a lot bigger and a different design to attach it to the Mass Air Flow Sensor. I took my K&N filter out of my truck when I installed the Gen II and dropped it in my EXPY. You can probably sell it if you have no other vehicle to use it on.
