performance mods!!
hey guys. here is a list of performance mods i would like to get for my truck.(see sig for model and whatnot) but i need to know how they will hold up against my warranty. i want the parts...but i do not want to void the warranty. any feed back on these specific parts and if they (ford) will give me hard time about them? thanks..
-airforce Stainless Steel Performance Intake Kit
-gibson Dual 2 1/2inch Super Truck Exit Aluminized Steel Cat Back Exhaust System
-jet performance module power module. it Advances Spark Timing and Changes Fuel Curve for Improved Horsepower and Torque.
and i was looking on truckperformance.com and i could not find any headers for my truck(again...see the sig). if you know a place let me know. i am open to suggestions that boost performance and do not void warranty! thanks again.

Put that Jet in there and I would hope they would void your warranty! Do you know what they thing can do to your AC, Windows, bumpers, rear end, radiator, wiper motor I could go on and on! Get a Superchip!!!!! I've never had an AC or wiper motor problem!
(yes that was me being a smart @$$)
Your dealer would be the best to ask. There are some real morons out there but there are also some straight up dealers that will treat you right. If you modify it, don't expect Ford to fix it if it breaks. For example, you replace the exhaust, of course Ford isn't going to warrant it, or anything that was modified that obviously caused damage. That said, a good exhaust systems installed corectly won't/shouldn't give you any warranty problems. Same with the rest.
Oh, go to the Computer Chips forum and get in touch with Mike Troyer about a chip. Seriosly, the best bang for the buck is the chip, and the best chip in my opinion is the Superchip. A whole lot of people would agree with me. And then there's the other wrong/misguided people

yo
so what you are sayin is they will not cover anything that is not stock or that is caused to break from the aftermarket products i have added? that would be alright...i just do not want my whole truck to be voided over something that obviously does not effect the whole truck. anybody know about that air intake??

As Family Ride said, some dealers are a little better than others with mods.
I have the Air Force 1 intake on my truck (2001 5.4L). I've also made the decision that if I had to take my truck in for work under the hood I'd probably put the stock intake back on. Not that I'm worried about my dealer having a problem with it, I'm just concerned about that exposed filter getting damaged while they're under there working.
There are laws in place to protect you against dealers and manufacturers trying to void your warranty for using aftermarket parts but you still have to be kinda careful in the mods you choose. Not using Ford's oil filter is one thing, adding a supercharger is another.
Oh, and do reconsider that Jet module and look at the Superchip. It was my first and still favorite mod.
Good luck!
