Both Roush & Steeda offer bolt-on adjustable timing devices for the 4.6. Is anyone using it, or has anyone tried My e-mail account is down right now, so please e-mail me at SundayNiagara@hotmail.com....Thanks, my truck is listed elsewhere under engines.

DS 69,

I called Steeda and they said you need about 2" of clearance in front of the crankshaft damper for this to work. You bolt this timing wheel on to the damper. Then
you remove the timing sensor and bolt the adjustable sensor holder to that. The sensor then attaches to the holder and takes its reading from the outside wheel. You are now able to adjust your timing. You have to move the A/C compressor out of the way to install. It is not a mechanical advance but electric so you won't push any valves into the pistons. Try one and let the rest of us know how (if) it works.

Thanks for your reply on this issue JMC. However, I'm not looking to be the guinea pig on this one & would prefer to hear from someone who already has it installed--ds69
