Question Question on "Check Engin Soon" Light

My F150 has been in the shop twice now for the Check Engin Soon light. It was found to be the O2 & EGO sensors both times. So far the light has stayed off and lets keep our fingers crossed. Now when I start my truck the light only comes on when the key is turned to on postion, and not after the key is turned. I could have sworn that it preformed the self test when the key is turned as the others do(air bag, ABS,etc...)and then turn off. Can anyone tell me if there check engin light comes on when you start and turn the key to your truck.

I'm just wondering if they tried to disable it instead of really fixing the real problem. Any feedback would be appreciated.
