Trading up
To all of you
This will be my last transmission since I have left the ranks of F150 owners. I sold my truck last week and put the money towards a worthy adversary, the Dodge Neon. It’s nimble handling characteristics compliment the short wheel base and makes for a quick car around corners, hopefully you have the patience to await the time it takes to get to the next corner. The “advanced” cab forward design which has been on the market for over 20 years now, does provide a roomy interior if you don’t mind sleeping on top of the dash since that is where the additional real estate is located. I elected to purchase a barely used, stripped model because I was tired of fixing options instead of driving. I got the SE, which I think cleverly and secretly instructs the service department to remove half of the ponies upon delivery. I receive a bigger adrenalin rush from mowing the lawn then I do from entering an onramp with this thing. The primitive three-speed transmission takes us back to yesteryear during the unveiling of the Dynoflow and when the initials “OD” had only one meaning.
To all of you, enjoy that truck. I drove regretful 20 miles to the buyer’s house as my ears were filled with the Flowmasters’ rumble, the smooth shifting of the stick (well, except third) and the pleasure of towering over the vast majority of other drivers.
Take care and God bless,
Carl

Gee Carl, sorry to hear that!
At least you have a great sense of humor (and history), and that will go a long way while waiting to get by on the straights!
Actually, there are *plenty* of go-fast goodies for those light little Neons, so you don't have to settle for that performance.
Best of luck with your Mopar,

Oh, I have most definitely stuffed a dead moose in the back of a neon, it was a college thing, don't ask, but my point is, that was easier than getting the live moose in there!
Sorry to hear about your loss, man, mine is on the market right now, I am moving and I can't take it with me, but I hope to pick up one the first day at my new place. I bet I will cry like a baby.

You reminded me of a college time when me and a couple buddies went to the sale barn and bought a pig in the parking lot for a football game BBQ. We tied the pigs feet together and put it in the trunk of a honda accord. When we got back to the apartment and opened the trunk the pig had come untied and went nuts. Not to mention the **it in the trunk. Anyway we tracked him throught apt. comlex and finished him off with a .22. He was mighty tasty. Gotta love the south and SEC football.
Oh yeah stayed up all Fri. night cooking the pig and drinking beer. Didn't even make it to the game.
