Post Vibration

First off, I apologize for being redundant on this post, but I'm starting to panic. 2000 F-150 w/ 5.4 V-8.

Vibration sets in at 64 MPH or (2000 RPM). I've gone back to dealer. They now want to replace the motor mounts. (Couldn't re-torque exixting mounts). My question: Is there anyone out there who experienced or has a similar problem? Confidence is ebbing with the diagnosis.

Thanks for any help. (I just really want some hope that this problem can be solved).

What kind of vibration? I have a slight someting that I can feel in the steering wheel at 62-67 mph. It is not present above or below that range. I can't hear it and none of my passengers have been able to hear of feel it. I can feel it in the wheel, like a rumble or resonance noise at a frequency of about twice a second. It is slightly irritating because most of my driving is about 65 mph. I plan to have it checked at the first oil change. (about two weeks)

Lloyd:
Welcome to the boards. I believe that you have a problem that is not too uncommon. I felt a similar vibration at the same speeds in the gas pedal. Freeing the accelerator cables from the bracket mounted to the power steering pump helped somewhat. There is a wealth of info in the older posts on this and many other topics. Here is more on what I described that might be of help:

Exclamation

I had the motor mounts replaced because Idles
felt a little rough, By the way Idles STILL feels a little rough. Now they keep saying it's normal.
