Question Romeo vs. Windsor durability question; also Mobil one question.

Just curious...does anyone have any comments on any major differences between the Romeo and Windsor engines that are durability- related? In the factory manual the only difference I noticed offhand was the cam chain mechanism looked a bit different between the two with associated auto adjustment parts differences.

And, to avoid another post, I'm pretty new to this site (and it is a great one, by the way!) but couldn't help but notice a LOT of members have Mobil 1 in their trucks. I switched also (I never used it before mainly since my older cars and especially the '64 ford F250 I was driving, would have pis_ _ d it right out the tailpipe) since it seemed like a good quality oil to stick with even though I still plan on 3K changes. Just wondering if there was any evidence this oil is better than a good standard petroleum oil? How about the high start rev of the 5.4; does this oil spash lubricate or leave a better film on the parts for startup?

Thanks in advance.

I am of two minds on the Mobil 1 question.

I switched to Mobil 1 in my Lightning at 3000 miles, and like you, will be changing the oil every 6 months or 3,000 miles.

However, I've never seen any convincing empirical evidence that synthetics are any better then dino oil in normal driving w/ frequent oil changes.

I went with Mobil 1 because I tend to drive my L hard when I use it, and because I was hoping for a couple of those anecdotal horsepower you're supposed to get.

My daily driver/pigmobile just gets dino oil, but the same 3,000 mile interval.
