Just a warning note, I installed the asp pulleys a couple weeks ago, no problems. Called asp to make sure that there would be no problems when traveling with my camper on back. Gues what, this weekend, took her up to the white mountains and had to maintain 3k rpms up some of the hills, the engine overheated, had to run with the heater and fan on just to bring it back down. Talked to asp and they said they really have not had mcuh experience with the PP's and non-racing applications. They do make an overdrive water pump pully(not for my truck) and you could possible get a different belt and replace the original water pump pulley but i am opting to return the PP's to asp. They were very nice and accomodating in getting the rma.

I wonder if the overheating was caused by water pump or the fan turning slow.
If the Fan was the cause maybe an electric add-on fan might help.

Cool

Another WARNING- A friend of mine installed a underdrive set and had problems with water temp and dimming lights. He was running an amp and 2 sets of aftermarket lights. { driving & fog } He traveled about 85 miles per day. Claimed his mpg went down also. He went back to the stock set up and all of his problems went away. I think the underdrive set is more suited for racing. Depending on how you drive and what assc. your using ac,lights, amp ect. you could take a step backwards. Just my .02 .

Wink

I guess Ford sized the pulleys the way they did for a reason.
BTW which pulley is the biggest load on the engine?

I guess that underdrive pulleys are not the
answer for me. I have a '66 Mustang that I pull from time to time, so overheating is a concern.

As for throttle bodies, I have'nt been able to find any. I did find a nice looking composite mass air meter that could give more hp and torque. Don't remember who made it though. Will post a reply when I find it again.

Cool

Edelbrock has a 75mm TB for the 4.6/5.4. I got mine for $195. As for MAF, talked to Kenny Brown today and they said that they did not recommend MAF, but I think it was due to the SC I am getting installed by them.
