W = Romeo
6 = Windsor

I have a 5.4 in my 2000 F150, And the 8th position in the vin# is the letter "L".

Is it the same for the 5.4 as it is for the 4.6?

I heard the Romeo is better.....I think it is the same for 5.4's...but what is a "L"??

The way I understand it, if it's a 5.4 then Windsor is the place of birth period. And if it's a matter of better, aside from some units w/slap the Windsor engines have more main bolt caps and few other items that should make them more durable!? I think this was on a post a while back.
