First Dyno Run on 5.4 w/mods
Well, I finally broke down and put my 'baby' on a dyno. I was curious to see what numbers it would post, and I wanted to share those with others here. Here are the particulars:
Shop: Dallas Mustang
Dyno: DynoJet Model 248H Chassis Dynamometer
RPM range: 3600 to 5600 RPM
Results shown are corrected for BP, air temp, vapor pressure
Gear: 3rd
rwh/p: 217
rwt/q: 285
My performance mods include the following:
K&N GenII FIPK
Flowmaster Force II Exhaust System
JBA cat-forward headers
Custom Superchip flip-chip
I have the 4R100 tranny, and using a driveline loss of 27% (based on posts from Mike T. at Performance Products), I end up with about 297 hp at the flywheel (217/.73).
What do you guys think? The numbers were where I expected them, but I was hoping to break 220 hp at the rear wheels. I do wish I would have instructed the shop to run the test from 2500 to 5000 rpm - I think they are used to testing Mustangs, and I cringed when they took the rpms to 5600, and it's only downhill after about 4500.
