Tornado Fuel Saver
Tornado Fuel Saver
Has anyone tried a Tornado Fuel Saver on their Ford? I keep seeing the advertisement on TV and was tempted to put one in my 4.6 V-8. I already have a K&N filter and a chip. I don't want to install the device unless it really works.
I bought my F250, 5.4L two months ago and installed the Tornado. The first two tankfuls (without Tornado) I got about 13.5 mpg. Since I installed it, I get about 14 mpg. I think this is more apt to be because of increased gas mileage after the breakin. I am very disappointed because I put one in my 2000 Ranger 3.0L and I DID get 2 more mpg. It just doesn't seem to do anything for my new engine.
I will be taking it out this week and throwing it into the trash. My suggestion is to not spend the $80 on this product, but put that money towards a proven product like a K&N FIPK that will definately give you more power and better gas mileage.
Like they say, if it sounds too good to be true....

Yep, blow that one off.
I spent $90 on a Power-Aid (same principal)... Made my intake noise sound like a banshee in heat with no noticable power gains and definitely no fuel mileage gains. The thing is a nice red anodized paper-weight on my desk right now...
An expensive one...
Oh well, live and learn...
