Question 4.6 Oil Capacity Question

I just got my new 2000 4.6 installed in my 99. It came as a complete hot tested engine direct from the Romeo plant. Here's my situation - My original 4.6 had the cable type dipstick. The new engine has the steel ribbon type with the spiral shaped end. When I changed oil with the original engine, I added exactly 6 Qts per the OM and it filled it to the mark. I just changed the oil for the first time in the new engine, added 6 Qts, and the level was below the add mark. I have the towing package so I thought that may be where the quart goes, and it isn't clear in the OM as to any difference in oil capacity with the Class III towing group. I've searched past threads and this isn't discussed much.

What's the right answer here as to what the oil capacity is with the towing package?

Is there a part number stamped on the dipstick anywhere?

How can I tell if I'm overfilling the engine? BTW I'm using Mobil-1 5W30.

I am pretty sure all 4.6L engines take 6 qts.
The dip stick is secondary to what is stated in the manual in your case.
