Centrifugal compressors usually provide 1-2 psi at 3000 RPM. As RPM increases, power increases.

Take a look at the other supercharger threads. I posted more info there.

Which supercharger are you talking about, the Powerdyne supercharger? If so I am quite pleased with the unit. I have had fun with it so far especially when I leave people in the dust. My avg 0-60 is anywhere from the mid to high 5's and 1/4 is high 13's/low 14's @ 100+. My best 1/4 is 13.7 @104.1. I have some pics at my website. But at around 2000 rpm I am only producing 1.5-2.0lbs of boost. It does not produce as much boost at low rpm as the Kenne Bell but you cannot beat it for the bang for the buck value. I would have gotten the Kenne Bell but I did not feel like handing out that much cash.

I will have to agree with Jackhel on this one. You cannot beat the bang for the buck on the Powerdyne supercharger.

Jackhel,
Did you put your resonator back one? If so wanna race... Give me a big head start.

Kevin to add to your research I had a powerdyne on my 97 4.6 f150 reg cab short bed. I was not happy with the over all quality of the kit. I had to send it in twice for new bearings with very little miles on it. It does work but it by far isn't the best. I ran a 15.2 with the supercharger headers full cat pipe and cat back 80mm mass air 180 term. electric fan and 3.73 gears. I believe it ran around 16.9 stock. I wouldn't expect anything under 15's and would not even think of turning up the boost with this compressor. Hope this helps!

kevin3636, I bought the supercharger from Fairway Sport and Performance 714-579-3894. I paid $1900 plus $30 for shipping. I would not put a higher boost pulley on though. The powerdyne has been getting a bad rep because of the mustang guys running too high of boost thru them. The belt that comes with the kit is designed to literally break apart above 9psi (the exact rpm I have forgot). But if you leave the supercharger @6psi it will live a long happy life. I wouldn't recommend more that 6psi on a stock engine anyway.

Fast46triton, I have the 4.6L Windsor. I have got my times from the G-Tech Pro. It has taken me awhile to perfect my launches because my tires would go up in smoke. A few weeks ago I went to the strip and the times were in the same area as the G-Tech.

Gorp I still haven't put the resonator back in, I couldn't find it. But it has to be somewhere in my shop. Yeah we can race. Last nite I raced a 93 5.0LX Mustang. I pulled away from him hard, I guess he thought he wouldn't have that big of a problem racing me and didn't give it that much gas at first, oh well. I think the only thing I am going to do to my truck now is elec fans, hotter ignition(plugs and wires), and bed cover. Not anything else to put a bigger dent in my gas mileage. Luckily my foot has gotten better since the gas prices. Last tank I average around 16mpg. I know when I first got my supercharger my mileage was in the single digits easily. You know I had to work out all the kinks

Are you guys going to be at the Norfolk rally, if so I will see you guys there.

Hi kevin I would just like to add alittle more about this kit. Besides the bearing problems harmonic balancer pulley problems it also was ship with the wrong brackets and 1/2 the bolts were missing or were wrong size. I have installed many blowers and as for this one I just can't back it. I installed a powerdyne on a 95 lightning and also had the same problems with bearings and missing parts. This kit will add performance to your truck and work. But I know it's not that dependable. Remember you get what you pay for. And these bearing problems are at the stock boost level as sent not any higher. And with only a 1 year warranty you will be taking a gamble......

Just take a look at how you want your truck to run. If the power band is OK, and cost is a factor, the centrifugal may be the way to go.

I personally have never seen centrifugal compressors perform like the roots-types I have driven.
