Post Stock 4.6 HP?

Can anyone tell me the stock HP for the
F150 4.6? Also what is the stock HP for the 5.4? I have a 1998 F-150 XLT 4x4 with the 4.6. So far I've added a Magnaflow exhaust and the new K&N Generation II airfilter assembly kit. (Basically same as an Airaid)
And my new superchip is on it's way. After I install the chip can anyone give me the new (approx) HP? I'm doing these improvments to help tow my 21ft boat. It doesn't really struggle but it sure sounds and feels like any additional power would help. Any other tips anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks alot and happy truckin!!

The 4.6L is 220 hp and the 5.4L is 260. The chip adds 26 hp. That doesn't mean you have 246 hp. It adds the hp to the rear wheel hp figures at certain RPMs. Just means that it's been tested to add 26 hp using a dyno. With all your aftermarket goodies, you should be fine towing.

Actually those number, I believe, are incorrect! I am not sure about the 4.6 but I think it was more like 210 or 215 and the 5.4 was definately 230 FOR 1998! The HP didn't increase until 1999 or 2000.... I know the 2000 5.4 has 260 except for the Navigator - 300 HP and the Lightning - 360.......

Yes that is correct Rand but I don't think the 4.6L was ever rated under 215 or so. Most go with the 219 or 220 reference. I think V10 man was thinking of the current 2000 numbers.

The posting I have in my chilton manual says for 97-98 the ratings are 210 and 235 respectively and for 99-00 they are 220 and 260. These ring the same as figures I have seen posted other places on this site.
