Camshafts for 5.4

Does anyone make a performance camshaft(s) for the 5.4? If so does anybody here use them?

Hey
Try Houston Performance, I've talked to them about it, they said they have them, but I don't think anyone has tried it yet. Heres there site. Call them and see what they say, then post back what you heard. Hope this helps

Cool

HI!... There are companies out there that make aftermarket camshafts for the 5.4 but they are ALL overated and over priced. If you do a SEARCH, this topic has been discussed several times. These aftermarket camshafts usually raise the peak H.P powerband up towards 6000RPM but will sacrifice low end H.P and TORQUE, "BIGTIME'!!!!!!!! Even SHM says there not worth doing unless you are setting the truck up for dragstrip duty ONLY. Or massively moddified or supercharged. Don't waste your money. There is a ton of mods to do besides that that will give you more power for a cheaper price. My trucks a perfect version of that!LOL! Read lower SIG.

DTS,

The cam shaft from the 99+ 5.4 is different from the 97-98 model. Unless you open up the heads you will not gain much if anything by changing cams.
