Cleaning Fuel Injectors

When paying to have fuel injectors cleaned, just exactly what do they do? Can one tackle this task themselves by means other than gas additives? At 5 miles a day, it takes a long time to run a can of injector cleaner through the system.

They use industrail strength fuel injector cleaner that can only be purchased by repair shops. They generally hook the can of cleaner directly into the fuel rail and let it run through. It does a much better job than the stuff you get in a bottle from the gas station.

Cool

HI!... If you want to save some money and clean your injectoes really good. Go out and buy yourself a bottle of REDLINE fuel injector cleaner. This is just about the strongest stuff the public can buy over the counter. You can use as directed or mix it a bit stronger. That's what I've been doing for 3 years. I usually throw a bottle in my tank about every 3-4 months. You do have to be carefull when bringing your vehicle in for fuel injector cleaning. The stuff yhose shops use in the can is VERY strong and if use too many times can actually damage the fuel injectors. (PINTLE)

MotorVac is the best way to go, but it's costly.

Take care,
