Radiator Upgrade - Who missed May5 date?

Alot of conversation on this topic has abated as most owners bought their trucks before May 5 and believe Ford will take care of them. For the rest of us; have you contacted your dealer? Have you contacted Ford? What have you been told? My dealer is "looking into it". Ford (800-248-6674) has told me they won't know until the letters are mailed and they won't say who is getting them. In both cases, stonewalling in my opinion.

Missed it by months...

My story - abbreviated. I missed the May 5th deadline, however, I scoured Ford's web sites for ordering new vehicles, have dealer photocopy of documents stating upgrade radiator, and web site info, etc. and I bought in August. I started looking at web sites and rigs in July. It took weeks to find my vehicle 250 miles away - picky on options. Had to have tow package for the ponies. Thanks to this site I was aware of the 'small' rad problem. I confronted the dealer within 48 hours of bringing home the truck, went through service, service manager, then owner said to swap it out. Customer Care (aka Factory spokeswoman) said no can do and I was offered 5 yrs/75,000 warranty and told if the radiator was swapped out the warranty I had would be voided for that part. Couldn't get that in writing. I settled for 6 yr/100,000 Extra Care warranty, then bought the rad (2.02 inch) myself at, thanks to the dealer, their cost, and paid to have it installed. End of Story unless theirs a class action suit I don't know about.

I missed it by 2 months. Talked to the dealer in August after finding out about it here. Dealer called Ford, Ford faxed them a copy of the notice dated May 4th and the dealer said 'sorry'. I stewed on it for a while and have brought it up to them again since Ford has officially stated they screwed up. The dealer said to call the Ford complaint line and not let up until Ford says they will replace it. Haven't called Ford yet, waiting until I'm in a real bad mood. The dealers take was that they didn't know about it so therefore its Ford's problem.

Only good thing that this dealer has done is goof up my $100 in free gas from Ford. Finally got that resolved, Ford sent a check for $400.

Next week it will be going in for try number 4 to fix chiming. Quality is job 1?

Just missed it...

What really stinks is I got the truck in early June as a replacement for a 2000 Taurus that spent more time in the shop than on the street. Heck I paid more for rental cars each month than I did for the car payment! Compared to the Taurus my truck has been awesome, and I love it, could not imagine life without it... But there are some annoying things, like a little rear end whine, a little popping out of the Pitman arms, and my first moving violation.
Okay the last one was my fault, but the darn thing sure is a mover!

So what do you all think. Should I cash the check or get the upgraded radiator? I just received my notice in the mail yesterday and have been thinking about it. Would a larger radiator be better? I'm in Texas and it does get quite hot down here in the summer. What's your opinions?

Thanks

Mind if I ask what your build date was?

Wondering if it was before or after May 5th. Got my truck July 5th with a June 19th build date.

Unhappy Corn-fused

I am confused about this whole radiator thing. I just bought a 2002 Screw that I think was built July of 2001. Do I count in this radiator deal? What should I do? HELP!!!
