New Throttle Body, Body Spacer, Intake......

I have a few Questions.
I wants to get a BBK Hi-Flow Throttle body. and the throttle bodys spacer along with the K&N Generation 2 intake. Would all this work. Will everything bolt up together. it says everything bolts up to stock mounts.

Hey 4RDPWR

I have a BBK 75mm throttle body, K/N fipk, and a throttle body spacer on my truck now, everything bolted together with no problem. See my signature below for other modifications done to my truck.

Hey, If you haven't bought that spacer yet, I have one that I would give to you so that you don't waste your dough. Those spacers are a waste of time. They also are very noisy! Had no improvement in power either.

I had put a spacer in, but it made my truck sound like a hovercraft. I had a boost from the K&N, but the throttle spacer didn't seem to improve any performace at all. Mine is sitting on a shelf in my garage.

Yeah, don't waste your money on the tb spacer. No performance gain with it. Instead, get some good spark splug wires or do the CV electric fan mod. You shouldn't have any problems installing the BBK tb and K&N fipk.

Thumbs up underdrive pulleys

Hey 4RDPWR

The throttle body is not hard to install, you should be able to do it in about 30 minutes. As for the underdrive pulleys, you will notice a slight increase in throttle response. If you do the throttle body, the underdrive pulleys and a K/N fipk all at the same time, you will get a lot better throttle response, and you will feel a gain in power as well.

I hope this helps.

Larry.

I will give you the spacer. You will have to buy yourself some gaskets. I have it and the pieces that come w/ it in the top of my tool box. It keeps get pushed around. I kick myself eveery time that it is in my way. But do yourself a favor and search this sight for throttle body spacers. And then if you still want it, E-mail me at peties3@aol.com

Okay fellow F150 owners,

This TB spacer seems to be quite a sore subject with those having the 5.4 engine. No power gain and possible performance loss.

From my experience with the 4.6 engine, you have to remember that it does not breath as well as the 5.4 (i.e., heads). Now, add a less restrictive intake system (K&N Gen. II for ex.), change the TB to the BBK 75mm, open up the exhaust with a good engineered CAT back system, and now your dumping alot more air into the engine. The improved flow of the exhaust will pull that increased volume of air through the engine. In my experience, the engine bogged down off the line and was very slow in reving through the gears. Increase the velocity of the volume of air entering into the engine and it steps up to the plate, Via the throttle body spacer plate.

When I initially installed all of the mods on my truck minus the spacer plate, yes it ran well but sucked off the line. Put the spacer plate on and it acted like a different truck. The only explaination is the spacer plate. Speeder can also vouch for it too.

Oh yeah, I do know that if you put the spacer plate on with the stock TB and the K&N Gen. II intake, it will hurt the performance of a 4.6 engine also.

thanks everyone

thanks everyone, this has been alot of help. I think i am goign to get that TB Spacer from peties3, if he still wants to hook me up with it. i want to do as much as i can to my engine as possible. Im only 17 with a minimum wage job. i have a probelm sometimes paying for all this upgades for my truck when i have to pay for gas, insurance and everything else. i have 32's on my truck. my truck gets up to 65 fast, but everything after 70 sucks.my engine just bogs down. it doesn't have enough power. i plan for a lot more stuff for my truck over the years to come. but right now im working on the whole air intake system.
thanks everyone

OK. If you want the throttle body spacer, E-mail you address to me.peties3
I think the link will work. If not you can do it the manual way.
I hope you will have better luck w/ the spacer than I did!

TB Spacer!

Does the spacer fit both the 5.4 and the 4.6? B/c 4RDPWR has the 4.6 and peties3 has the 5.4. I was just about to order the spacer and if someone has one that they want to sell or give then I would be more than happy. I'm like 4RDPWR I'm 18 and have a min wage job so I was gonna wait on Christmas for the spacer but if ya'll are giving them away I want one!!! Oh yeah I almost forgot to ask what kind is it?
