Angry engine vibration @1500,2000

I have a 2001 f150 xlt sport with 4.6 auto 3:55 ratio.I feel a vibration between 45 65 mph.The same vibration is felt if I leave the truck in park and rev untill 1500rpm to 2000rpm.I have had the truck in to the dealer 3xs. They replaced driveshaft checked trans and engine mounts, checked fuel trims, updated codes, checked tires etc, etc, etc.Next step is to have ford engineers investigate. It seems to me that the dealer is passing the buck. I love my truck and just want it fixed. Can anyone help me? or suggest what I should do to get the ball rolling towards arbitration?
The truck has vibrated since I bought it,though not as bad as now

I believe I have the same problem you do. I feel a vibration when driving on the freeway between 55 and 65 mph. I haven't tried revving the engine w/ the trans in park but will check that out tomorrow. I've done some searching on this message board but haven't found anything real helpful yet. Please post if your dealer finds the problem. I'm probably going to take my truck into the dealer next week and see what they say (I ain't holding my breath though). I'll post if I find anything.

Guys,

As a general reference but not always:

If you feel the vibration in the steering wheel is front end. If you feel it in the seat or your feet it's driveline.

Casey,
Has dealer replaced the harmonic balancer on the front of the crankshaft? Also, this sounds like it could be fuel related problem too. I have had similar complaints on 18-wheelers with diesel engines.

Hook a bungie cord on your tailpipe (to change its oscillating frequency) and see if your vibration changes speed/rpm.

I have a 2000 f150 with a 5.4 and at 1500 rpm it will drive you crazy with the sound of something vibrating. I take it to the dealer and all they say is "I cant hear it" Ive tried everything if you find out please post it..

I strapped my exhaust after being told it was the cause of the same vib as you are describing, it made no difference. I have had the MIL come on 2 times both for a DPFE sensor, now they are telling me a tube/pipe for the EGR is defective and are replacing it. Lets see it that cures the problem. I first noticed it after I had the truck 6 months and before it never did it.

Hey guys, I had the same problem in my 2000 5.4L 4X4 and it is now fixed. Took a few attempts but they finally got it. First they couldn't find the problem. Then they said that when they sprayed the undercoating they only got one half of the drive shaft so it put the shaft out of balance. Changed it and sprayed the entire shaft but it was still there, not as bad but still there. Then what they finally came up with was that my suspension was not aligned properly and that the driveshaft and my chassis wehe not parallel so it was putting an awkward strain on the yoke of the drive shaft. the part that connects it to the dif. So they ordered some shims/spacers and voala. Now if they could have only done that the first time. Don't know if it's the same for all the trucks but ask your dealer to look into that for ya.

I've had a couple of trucks and Expeditions come in with this concern. What has worke for me is to remove the exhaust bracket that is bolted to the transmission mount,(the gold colored bracket.) I just remove the bracket from the vehicle completely.
