Can anyone out there tell me what Ford changed on the V10 for 2000? An extra 35+ HP would be nice.. Thanks.

I picked up a pamplet at the FORD dealership on the SuperDuty's just for the poster. It says for 2000 in it, that the V-10 gets 310 HP

I can't tell you what they changed but I can tell you that the power difference is very apparent. I had a 99 v10 supercab, 4x4 with 4.30 rear axle, and bought a 2000 exactly the same and could feel the difference immediatly.

The changes that increased the horsepower and torque figures for the 5.4 are the same for the V-10 I believe, and if memory serves me correct they got a more aggressive cam and bigger exhaust valve. There maybe other changes too that I cannot recall.

 

Thanks. I was wondering how much it would take to upgrade. It sounds like it is more than just improved exhaust and intake manifolds. I guess I will try some headers and a chip.
