That choking sensation??

I hit 65k a few months ago, and lately there is something about my truck that bothers me. If I accelerate from a stop without changing throttle position, everything is fine. What happens is this.....When accelerating from a stop, if I give it more pedal before or during the 1/2 shift, it seems to choke up and hesitate for a second or two. The truck sort of falls flat on it's face, and an audible difference in the sound from the fipk can be heard as well. I have not replaced the plugs and wires yet(shame on me),,,could this solve the trouble? Should I look for other causes? No CE light, or any other indications that anything is wrong, just that nasty (and embarrassing) stumble.Thank for your time, guys.

The only performance mods are as follows:.....
Superchip: nothing but great power increase, probably not the cause.
K&N fipk: same thing
True dual exhaust with glasspacks, these have been on for almost a year and a half.

The trouble started long after any of these, so it's puzzling to say the least. I am doing plugs and wires as soon as I get home in the next week or so. Help out if you can ,,,,98

Oops, forgot to add these important maint. items!

Fuel filter has been done in the last 6 months.
Trans recirculatory flush the same day.
MAF gets cleaned every month.
Throttle body cleaning every few months, too.
K&N filter gets a regular once over as well.

In other words, the truck gets frequent preventitive work done, just trying to
figure it out.
