The Witch Is Dead! Coup At Ford!
Thank God for the coup at Ford. Nasser is finally gone after almost 3 terrible years. 26 recalls last year alone, not counting the tire fiasco. Sales are down again, even before 9/11. Quality has really sunk over the past two years, even in the JD Power ratings. In '99 Ford was poised to overtake GM in market share for the first time ever, now that is a distant memory.
We hope Ford now will sink some of its $$$ into product development and quality with new full size trucks from Honda and Nissan on the way in the next 2 years. They are gonna have to get serious again instead of coasting along on their reputation. Lets build a better truck, car, whatever instead of buying Volvo, Rover, Jag, and whatever and ruining them in the process.
We have said since the start "jack the knife" was going to run this company in the ground if they did not get rid of him. His only mission was to cut everything at all costs, no one ever "cheaped" their way back to competition. Finally the cutomers have prevailed. I hope this long nightmare of piston slap, head leaks and such is about over. Or at least now someone is paying attention.
Lets all hope Ford gets back to the business of quality and away from this "Mid 80's GM" mentality they have had since '98-'99.
BTW The new Baby Powerstroke plant is about ready in Huntsville AL. Its gonna make the 4.5 for the F150/Expo in '03
