I am hoping one of you who have installed the wms velocity tube is reading this. Without telling you how I lost the instruction page - I did. Now I know what the 3" to 3" is for it connects to the throttle body. The 4" to 3" connects to the airbox. WHAT does the rubber 3" sleeve do? AND did you cut the inner ring out of the end of the airbox?

If you are talking about a one inch wide rubber hose. It is used to fill the gap on a 4.6 throttle body. If you have the 5.4 you don't need it.

On my 5.4L I need the 1in adapter for the t-body. I think you want to know what the 3in long piece is for? It's for the part that the airbox inserts into the fender. You pop out the original one that goes into the fender and replace it with the 3in one. It just fits in there nothing special, just a bigger tube for the air intake fron the fender.
