I have a 99 F-150 XL Sport with a 4.2 L V6 and I would like to get a K & N air raid air filter and I would like to know if they make a system for my truck and if not I would like to know if they will in the near future. I would also know what a good muffler is but I don't want to replace the pipe. I would like to get one that makes my truck sound less like a V6 with a more of a rumbleing sound but not too loud.

Hi Sport,

I too just got 2k f150 xl sport. On day two I had a Flowmaster 40 series installed and the next day I installed a K&N air filter. The exhaust sound is perfect now, kinda rumbles but not too loud. I didnt do the mod for sound but for performance. You will notice more prep. Dont know yet about the mpg cause I've only put fuel in once.

Also you dont have a tach but you can get rpm by holding trip button,turning key on,release after "test" appears and press a few more times until tac is displayed. It's really cool.
