Post Anyone use Additives?

Just curious, but do any of you ever use any kind of additives in your pickup? Oil additive? Gas? Slick-50? ETC?

I tried that 104+ Octance boost. Didnt see any difference. THe only stuff that works is the real 104 octance you get at the tracks.

No oil additives, no octane boost, and rarely I will use an injector cleaner. However...to answer your question...no, I stay away from additives. They just are not needed today in *my opinion* in most cases.

Yep...there goes FAST...trying to get that 0-60 time below 8.0 seconds!! hahaha

I filled up with Shell 87 Octane the other day...and tried another 0-60 test...pathetic compared to my norm(7.9x seconds)....8.4 seconds!

I've used Slick 50 for many years and it's hard to say if it works or not as I haven't had any lube related problems. The last place I worked at had an oil lab and they did testing on several oils and additives, just to see. Results were: Mobil 1 was far superior in wear, corrosion resistance, and thermal resistance to petro based oils. And slightly better than other synthetics. These tests were unbiased as I/they were working for an electric utility at the time. I have never tried Mobil 1 and at $4.00+ /qt, I probably won't.

The additives did not show any signicant improvements in the above areas.

It doesn't matter, I'll still continue to use it after 10,000 miles in the new one.
Had 160K on a 2.3L 4cyl, no problems.
130K on a 4.0L V-6 no "lube" related problems.
