Post 5.3 Piston Slap

The chevy boys at my work have been making fun of the ford piston slap problem for quite a while now. Well, it seems that some gm owners are complaining about a knock at startup. One of these chevy boys took his 2000 silverado to the dealership for a noise at startup. Guess what? The mechanic explained a problem to him called "piston slap". He is getting a new engine at 8,500 miles. What goes around, comes around.

Piston slap on the New Vortec's? Never heard this one before! In fact, I don't know anyone (besides members here) that has a Triton with piston slap. Must be a geographical thing or something.
