Talking Engine Oil Drain Valve

I read about this product in Ford Diesel forum page and tried it out. It's a brass ball valve oil drain valve that replaces
the conventional oil plug. It actually works
great. Just flip the lever and out comes the oil(make sure the oil is hot). Can't think
of going back to the old method.
Highly recommended. It's available on-line

In case anynone was interested, there are two different applications for our trucks, the N-series and the Regular drain valve. There is a Nipple on the N-Series Valve to accept a hose, and extends from the valve an additional 5/8". This shouldn't be used for vehicles with low clearance, the N-Series valve may stick out too far against the ground. The (Regular) drain valve has no adapter on it and sticks out 1/2" further from the OEM drain bolt.

Cool

I put a Fumoto valve w/nipple on my truck with my last oil change. I'm sloppy and made enough of a mess of my driveway. Now I need NO tools to change the oil .

Question

I've answered my own question by going to the site. Considering that the bolt is in at an angle, there is minimal chance of hitting the valve. I don't think I'll be going over rocks within 1/4 - 1/2" of the oil pan anyways.

Is there added risk of the valve opening while off-roading or anything? This would be great if there are no worries.

Exclamation

I bought one from Pep Boys years ago, it worked great. Are they available retail, anywhere? Pep Boys no longer sells them.

Those valves have a positive detent, that locks them in the closed position, and I thiNK they also have holes on them so they can be safety wired.

I WAS going to get one, but after finding a place that will actually put the 5w30 in my Truck that I want, I don't need it. I asked the guy about it, and he said they are easier if you can't put the Truck on a lift, like he can.
I like working on my Truck, but find changing the oil to be uneventful, and not worthy of getting my nails dirty.

mtknee admit it, you just wanted to say "nipple"

Red Wings license plate in front, Red Wings license plate frame in back, Little Detroit Viper hanging from mirror, Oh yeah, and one "Blacked-out" grill.
Gonna get my Bed rails back on, Finally!
Couldn't find the right Polished steel design, so once I modify the powercoated ones I just bought, I will paint them.

Q: who wants my "Pocket Mount" chrome ones? Price:cost of shipping, or gas and maybe lunch if you live in S/E MI.
