Hi,

Does anyone in Canada know whether or not Ford Canada has anything to say about the use of a K & N filter? Does it in anyway affect our Warranty?

I've read all the stuff about the American law (Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act). Do we have any such protection in Canada??

far as I know, we have nothing to protect us..........and far as I can guess, ford will ******* us square up the ole'kahauna.......I hate fomoco.ca very very much...........

Just so us Canadians know, I called my dealer and they had no problems with me installing a K & N filter in my truck. However, they didn't exactly seem 100% confident.

In all honesty thought, I can't see why anyone, including Ford, should complain. From what I know about the filter, it's not only more breathable but don't they also filter air better? So where's the problem?

Besides that, what kind of problems might be blamed on the air filter anyway??? Anyone know of any?

I dont know much about Canada but It is only and air filter. It can not have any effect on your warrant. They would not even know it was in there. The filter is not a power adding product. It can cause no direct problem with your truck. Just put it inthey would not even know the difference. Remember it is an air filter not a bolt on type power aider. If you are that worried it takes 2 minutes to change so keep a cheap aftermarket one around and switch it when you have to bring it in to the dealer. You are aloud to use other aftermarket airfilters such as motorvator, fram, or any other brands. K&N is just another brand.

The problem that the K&N will cause is if it gets over oiled sometimes the excess can get on the MAF sensor and muck it up. Ford had been putting a sticker on some of the Taurus's saying it could void the warranty on some parts. They have since been forced to stop putting those stickers on.
