Question Please somebody tell me where this thing is!?!?

Okay, where exactly is the IAC, and does anyone have a part number for it? I have taken the black plastic cover that says "4.6L TRITON" on it off of the engine, and I don't know what I am trying to take off. Thanks y'all!

The IAC is located to the right of the throttle body, it has a electrical connector and 2 bolts holding it in, you may not need a new one, I recently had a really bad idle problem and when I took a coner at next to nothing speeds or came to a stop light it would stall, this came on all of a sudden, no warning.
the fix.......took out the IAC and throttle body, bought a can of valvoline syntech carb/throttle body cleaner and a small pionted brush, sprayed both down, being careful not to get the electrical connectors wet, let soak and scrubbed off the build up. Throttle body works like new and the Iac is as clean as I could get it.
the result....truck idles at about 500 rpm like a rock now, no problems with idle at all.

Thanks, main, I took off the IAC (or the little cylinder with two 8mm bolts holding it on, and it had all kinds of carbon built up in it, so I cleaned it down with the Valvoline Carb`n`Throttle Body Cleaner, and I let it dry out and then I put it back on, but it didn't change anything. I took off the coil packs and took them to the local parts store and had them tested, and both came out fine, so next I am going to go back with all new plugs and wires, hopefully this will get something going right. Thanks, y'all!

It was shuddering really bad in gear and out, missing REALLY bad, and it lost a whole bunch of power, and the 'check engine' light was flashing at me. It seemed like the motor was about to fall out.

try tapping the idle control valve with a small hammer, they tend to stick, but it sounds like your problems go further then that.

Pickup Man,

Bub, beg, borrow or steal a scan tool or a code reader. You are changing parts for nothing. You have a check engine light on so there should be a stored code. Until you know what the code is you cannot properly track down the problem.
