Post Jasper Engines

I work with this guy who has an exterminating busines on the side. He has a 95 dodge v6 shortbed with a cap that weighs 750# plus equipment. He also tows a good size boat with it. He changes the oil about every 6-8 months (filter? He drives a dodge)
It has over 125,ooo on it and needs among other things a new engine. He is being talked into a Jasper, he is trying to get another 5 years out of the truck (btw this dodge has the original air filter in it too). He has been drooling at an F350 but things spending 3k on getting the Dodge repair is better than the 43K for a vehicle that will take care of him.
What can you tell him about a Jasper engine (we already give it to him about the dodge and how he treats it)?

I have used jasper engines in chevy, dodge , ford they all ran good no real problems, but they are not a high perforance engine and do use used parts, some are new others are used(rebuilt). They only problem that i had is a set of heads that had bad valve guides in them they fixed them but it took alot of time and calles on the phone and they don,t pay labor. Check into a engine from chrysler some of the over the counter motors are priced very closely to jasper and other re-man's.Good luck hope i have been some help.

SteveG,
I have to disagree with you about Jasper not having high performance engines. You can order the engine to your spec's. I have purchased a 400M for a 78 4WD and I am currently looking at a 400HP 5.0 for a Mustang. The 400 was built up for 300HP. The stock engine was in the 200HP range. I latter had them change the gear ratio for the axels - better price on the axels than anyone else.
If my 5.4 dies after the warranty period, A Jasper will be my replacement engine.

Okay let me re-phrase it the replacemnt type engine are not high performance. And they still use used / re-man parts the the performance ones as well, that info came from jasper. I think they are a okay eninge it was not a knock against jasper just my .02 cents worth since i have put install more than a dozen of them.

you can order a higher performance type eninge from them .
