Wink

I gotta watch how much and what I put on my Sport. It's leased and I don't wanna give my dealer back too many toys.
Just wanna do some stuff that makes it look good and run well without going overboard on cost that I have to eat when my lease is up in 3 more years.

Thumbs up

F150Sport

The velocity tube bolts on in place of the stock elbow. You don't have to do anything to the stock parts but put them in a box and save them (like I'm doing, to include my original stock air cleaner!) I bought my truck, but if and when I trade it in, a lot of parts are coming off first!

I'd be happy to send a picture of my truck, and one of the Velocity Tube as well if you'd like! Just e-mail me and I'll reply with them as attachments (I don't have a web page). My e-mail address is in my signature.

Question Recent K&N Filter...MPG Go Down?

Maybe it's paranoia, but just by watching gas gauge,(haven't checked by filling tank yet) it's appears that my MPG is going DOWN with my new K&N filter.

What's the general consensus?

Has your guys MPG gone up or down?
Thanks.

Cool

F150Sport,

Relax, I felt the same way when I first put my K&N in and then again when I put my Velocity Tube in, and then again when I installed my exhaust! I deduce it's a combination of two factors:

1) The subconscious need to play with your new mod, which equates to a little heavier foot till you actually become accustomed to the new found feel of your truck, and

2) The relearning curve of the computer!

I saw a decrease in gas mileage immediately after each mod, but within a week or two, it returned to what it was or better!

Another sensation that I attribute to the same two Factors sited above, is the immediate gain in performance after each mod, and then what I feel is a gradual decline in that performance during the same period, although never back to what is was before!

I believe a psycological and mechanical adjustment takes place. The truck's computer relearns the new mixture and adjusts accordingly, and at the same time, your mind is also adjusting to the difference in the way your truck feels! At some point these adjustments stop, and your fine until the next mod, and then it starts all over again!

Just my opinion, and I'm sure there are those out there who will be convinced I've finally gone over the edge!
