What is this?

Working on a e350 van with 5.4 when I encountered this. The engine appears to have a vacuum leak but isn’t affected by spraying starting fluid. Any ideas?

Appears that the intake doesn’t fit the head, does this work because of a redesign?

welcome to 1997

and no, it’s not an issue due to the plugs in the holes (why it’s not reacting to starting fluid), I highly encourage you to cease whatever it is you’re doing and seek professional assistance
