Rough idle

Hello everyone, I’m new on the forum. I have a 2003 f150 with the 4.6l engine and can not figure out why the heck the rpm rev up to 1k or 2k at times when I initially turn my truck on. As soon as I put it in reverse the rpm drop down to normal. This also happens when I stop at traffic lights or stop signs. The rpm will stay at 1k rpm and sound like I’m reving my truck but then will drop to normal after a couple min. I’ve replaced the iac valve, throttle body sensor, egr valve and nothing seems to fix the issue. I was hoping someone could help me out.

Have you cleaned the throttle body?

Yes I have. I just used throttle body cleaner and a rag to clean the inside and outside. Didn’t fully remove to clean.

Remove it and clean it the right way.
