V6 to V8 swap
I have a 1997 f150 regular cab flare side. Getting ready to swap a 1997 f150 4.6 4x4 into it. My truck is 4x2.do I need to get a 97 4x2 trans to make this work.
My dads truck that’s not with me anymore

Yes. If automatic, it must be a 1997 4R70W out of a 4.6, if manual, it must be out of a 1997 or 1998 4.6. You will need a computer and wiring harness out of a 1997 4.6 4x2.
