The VIN wont be posted because the truck never existed. You guys that are old enough should remember all the stories from the 60's and 70's about people who "invented" carbs that would 100+ mpg on a v8 engine. Did you ever see one?? I had a 440 mopar I would have loved to have one on... The story always was that the oil companies paid big money to the inventor to keep them off the market. Some one who was smart enough to make that work (not that I think that it's even possible)I think would be smart enough to realize that the oil companies couldn't pay him as much as he could make on the open market. Trust me there are no 50 mpg F150s in some secret skunk works somewhere. If they had them they would be selling them! How many people would buy GMs or Dodges if they could get a better built and a better looking truck that also got 50mpg?

Think about it...
Mike

Is there even enough energy in a gallon of gas to propel a 4500 pound vehicle with the F150's aerodynamics and rolling resistance for 50 miles? Since I only get about 15-17.5 mpg, that means my current drivetrain is only 30%-35% efficient.

I have heard from a very reliable source
that the truck in question was THE vehicle that crashed at Roswell all those years ago. It was stolen in an industy coup of the govt and Ford lost it after developing the lower MPG prototype that we drive today. The dudes that came to get the vehicle were with MIB, not Ford. Conspiracy, man,
CONSPIRACY!

Maybe I should think of some BS plans and get my check from the oil co.
Ford has been working tooth and nail to get mpg #'s up for years.
They do major engine modifications just to get mpgs up a little tiny bit.
Also ppl who rebuild engines for a hobby would have figured uot how to make a 50mpg F150 by now if it was possible.

Actually, it was a big prank by none other than me. You see, I'm a thief of sorts, but I suffer from dyslexia. Sometimes, late at night, when I'm on the prowl for something like gasoline, I get all balled up. I never could get this fellow right; I'd show up with a couple of full gas cans (I kept forgetting the siphon hose, too). Anyway, I kept filling his tank instead of draining it. I'm in therapy right now, those guys from "Ford" actually work for my shrink and we needed that truck for my rehabilitation (the insurance company said they can write it all off). THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE, MULDER!!

MONDOLX-
This reminds me of somthing I used to hear when I was in the Navy:

Q: What's the difference between a fairy tale and a sea story?

A: A fairy tale begins with,"Once upon a time," and a sea story begins with,"This is a NO SH***ER!"

Mine gets slightly over 50 miles to a gallon. If Ford is reading this, I'd like a new Super Duty F250 with a 5.4L and a 5 speed, regular cab, white, as well as a Mustang GT (white also). Please have the tanks full and the tags paid when you show up. Oh, I also want lifetime warranties on both vehicles. That'll help me forget about the first pickup.
