Loss of power please help

Hi everyone

so my 94 F150 with 5L V8 is losing power once I get to my cruising speed and when I hit the gas to speed up it’ll start to bog out, make some backfire like noises and the check engine light will start flashing. Once it corrects itself it’ll run well for about 30 seconds and it’ll start doing it again. This usually happens after driving for about 3-5 minutes. I have a few ideas about what it could be that’s causing this but would like to know what you guys think could be causing this.

thank you to anybody who’s able to help I really appreciate it!

Read out the EEC codes.

Basic ignition stuff - plugs, wires, cap, rotor.

Plugged converter or other exhaust restriction?

Fuel issues - low pressure, plugged fuel filter, dirty injectors?

Should be OBD I I think. Might be able to extract codes with the ignition key.
