Reduced to engine power

I need help my truck will go off on reduced engine power randomly. My temp gauge will go from half way on the gauge to hot in a sec. if I pull over it’s not running hot at all. I can shut the engine off and restart it and drive it and my temp gauge will be at half way till it does it again. If I keep driving it with the issue I don’t have any reduced power unless I drive it for a long time. It still doesn’t get hot and over heat. We changed the sensor under the intake manifold and still having the issue any info would be appreciated

Always state what vehicle, engine, etc you are asking for help on. Assuming you changed the correct sensor, I would look for wires that are shorting. I don't know if the sensor grounds when hot? I'm just wagging here.

What year, model, and engine? What sensor? Have you checked for OBD2 codes?

Yea we change the right sensor and the pig tail. It just does it random and I can pull over shut the engine off and start it with in 30 sec my temp gauge goes back to normal and it might drive a hour or 5 mins and do it again

We need to know the exact code, please, and verify which exact sensor you changed. P1200 is a fuel injector code.
