Cool 1998 NASCAR edition F-150

Could any body tell me a little a bout this truck. I have a dealer near by that has one with 400 miles on it for 18,500 dollars. Is this a good buy? Also what size and modafcation do the motor have. It sound very good. And any thing else knowen about them. I usely keep up on Ford trucks but didn't on the nascar truck.

thanks

Its nothing special. I think its even just a V6 with different exhaust tips. Some different graphics and interior too it think. (i've only seen 1 though).

The 98 Nascar edition comes with Nascar seats and floor mats. The Roush exhaust tip, lowered suspension, Goodyear yellow letter tires, custom graphics, and a 3.73 rear end which did not come with any 98 f-150. It also uses the 4.6L V-8 w/ auto. I may be missing some things but that's the most difference between the two. I would haggle the dealer on down just for the fun of it. I have one myself and am quite pleased with it. I just need to get some traction so I can be faster, faster, faster. Just my 2cents.

If it has the Windsor it was one of 3000 made it has a Roushtip(drop the stock muffler for a Dyno Race Mag) It has been droped 3 inches and has a modidied suspension. It handels very well!! It is a good buy at that price but try to haggle a little anyway as it is a 98!!! Use the Harley edition as a haggle and the fact it is basicaly a SSX . No power options and just a 4.6!! Now when you get it it will have the FOU1 transmission and get your superchip. Then get a K&N Gen II or likewise intake breather mod. You will have a very fast dependable truck!!! And it is a limited production model. If you live in the DFW area E-mail me as I have one on my lot(Un Titled)and I will be glad to get you a great deal. I love mine!!!!

Yo Jackhel,
Do you still have the 3.73 gears from your Naccar edition? The wheels are turning!

nascar88, the dealer cost on that truck was about $17,500. The minute you drive it off the lot it is a 2 year old used truck. I think he is a little high. Go to Kelly blue book and run it as a used vehicle with 400 miles in excellent condition. The Nascar package doesn't show up so you have to run it as an XL with the other options added. Run it for trade in value(the lowest) and retail value(the highest). Somewhere in the middle is a good starting point.

The original production number for this truck was 5000 but I read somewhere they only made around 3000. I think the truck didn't go over very good because there were no performance enhancements other than the 3.73 rear end which isn't limited slip. It is a good looking truck, I get a lot of looks and thumbs up and I have been happy with it. Who knows, someday they may be collectors items.

I ran it on Kelly Blue Book (www.kbb.com)for the Houston area. Retail is $17,600, trade in is $14,180. That is with 400 miles, excellent condition.

Thats right they only made 3000 performance inhancements 373 rear - 3in lowered- roush tips. Don't let that fool you! The computer you will find is already cleaned and ready for a chip. Change the muffler and ad a K&N filter with a tube. You will find the results pleasing!!!! Kelley blue book is not the book to use!! You might as well call it Barneys Greeen Lizerd Book! Reason... Kelley uses the sticker price... Every Dealership I have heard of uses the NADA Black book which comes out monthley and is based on the actual average of wholesale auction prices. If that truck is untitled it is worth the price of 16575.00 to 17575.oo It is after all a new truck with full warrenty. If it has been titled and under 5000 miles is worth 14500 and 15500.It is a GOOOD TRUCK!!!!
Now the prices I have given you are what a whole sailer would pay. On a lot add 2500. Only fair considering there overhead and ability to finance even the worst of us. If you have your own financing in place these numbers should give you room to ****er.
