87 f150 fuel problems

1987 F150 5.0L 302ci AT 2wd
.
Ok I have been searching everywhere online for tips on how to get this old truck running for weeks now. And have made progress mostly due to past post from this forum.
.
This old f150 has not been run in several years. It had duel fuel tanks both were rotted.
The front tank and pump have been replaced.

I've gone from no fuel pump to both tank and pressure pump running. Used a jumper to turn on pressure pump.
( rear tank deleted along with manual switch over valve).
I have 40 psi on fuel rail. But no start .
Fuel pump stays on .
( I think points to my EEC-IV or PCM ) I pulled it inspected for leaky caps . But no leaks and only 1 electrolytic 3.3pf cap on board tested good .
I cleaned things up on the board. Replaced thermal compound for the mosfets. And cleaned the ground wire connection from the eec to the driver fender. And reinstalled( while battery unhooked) .
.
Now I get the emmision light at key turn and it goes out after a second or so. Now pressure pump works without jumper. But it still does not quit when the light goes out.

.
Then when I tried to start it acted hydro locked.
Prior to this there was no trouble turning over and would start on small amounts of starting fluid.
. I'm guessing a injector finally opened and filled a cylinder .
.
I plan to pull the spark plugs today and disconnect the ignition coil to remove the fuel.
And would love to know my best direction to solve my issuie.
.
I'm thinking to do some eec wire harness inspecting ?? Maybe a nicked ground wire to the injector ?

.

Sounds to me like you have one or more injectors stuck wide open. I'd pull them and rebuild or replace them. They are probably loaded with varnish.

Not a horrobile idea . The tank switch over valve had some varnishing inside.
I think the injectors just came to life yesterday after reinstalling the EEC-IV .
I may also check the injectors connector ground wire with my key on .. if all are off then the injectors. Are defanitly a problem.
