That you say it's leaking coolant into the throttle body is probably why you're not getting much response here. Unless yours is different than the 2004 4.6 I had, there is no connection of coolant at the throttle body. There is a heater hose that runs under the intake manifold that cracks with heat and age that is known to leak UNDER the manifold but not to where it's inside the throttle body or manifold. Might post a couple more pics if you can and maybe not so close up.

Ok it has two small lines one goes to the intake manifold coolant passage the other one branches off the heater hose. The large line comes out the back and goes to the pcv in the valve cover. Inside the valve has rusted away and now coolant leaks into the throttle body through the elbow. No the throttle body has no connection of coolant. Just that valve. whats that valve called? I need a new one.. don't know what to ask for...

That's kinda what the part looks like, But I need it for a 2005 4.6 v8. Ford doesn't have a parts no# for it so Im still trying to research it. Thanks for all the help and if anyone knows the name or part no# I sure would appreciate it.

The name of the item is a heated PCV. I've never seen a heated PCV but yes, Ford made them. Why it's heated is beyond any explanation I got. Sorry for the wrong part number above. That's what happens when you depend on a computer to have the right parts in the right search criteria.

The guy at the parts house at my ford dealership said the heated pcv valve was on the valve cover and was heated with 12 volts. I cant understand why it has one in the valve cover and in that elbow also? But that's what I thought it was called also.

They made a heated PCV in both coolant heated and electric. I could not find in the Ford catalog for your ym a heated by coolant PCV. Are you sure it's a 4.6? The 5.4 shows one exactly like the one in your pic. But it's a 5.4. Then again, I had an 86 XLT supercab with Maverick shocks on the front and the entire electronics system wasn't in any Ford catalog. I would have to spend over $3,000. to get all of the right electronics back in the truck that I bought new. My sister had a Thunderbird with all kinds of wrong parts on it too so frankly, when it comes to having the correct parts on your Ford truck, all bets are off.

Might remove the current part and have the Ford dealership match it up. My bet it is for a 5.4.

The 5.4 3 valve didn't even have a PCV valve, it's a fixed orifice inside the valve cover.
