Throttle response

I’m new to forums so bare with me a lil bit, but I have a 2000 Ford F-150 with the Triton 4.6 V8 and I wanna make my throttle response quicker and have no idea how. I’ve read around a lil bit and the one I’ve seen was just turning the key to the on position, and pressing down on the gas pedal slowly and releasing it fast as possible... turns out Some people don’t know if it worked on any older than a 2007. Any help would be gladly appreciated and thanks for helping a fellow ford owner lol

Buy a used Superchips 1715 and load the program. They are available used for cheap. Just make sure they are not vin locked. I have one loaded on my 2002 5.4 and it made a very noticeable improvement in throttle response, hp, and improved the fuel economy a tad.

The trick you saw is only for electronic throttles, 2004 and newer.

You can try getting a new throttle cable. Sometimes as the truck gets older, the throttle cable gets elongated from use. No different than steel braided cables on a bicycle.

Worth a shot, can't hurt.
