Oil pump upgrade

My '06 F150 with the 5.4 3V has 132K miles. I was wondering if it would be worthwhile to upgrade to the Melling oil pump?

I would do it, along with the VCTs.

Also depends on the condition of the truck. If it still can get up to 250K and another 5 years, it would be a no brainer.

If you are going to do the oil pump and VCT's, I'd also consider replacing the whole timing set. The 5.4 3 valve does have a habit of eating the chain tensioners.

Thanks guys. Do you have a ballpark dollar figure on what parts and labor would be for all of this?

It all depends on how much your locale charges.

Most in the ball park of ~$1500 upwards of $2000 by a competent shop.
