Talking 2000 in a 1999 its just fine

Just got my truck back after a week. I had piston slap engine replaced. The tech did a very good job. I took it back to my shop to check it out. The only thing I found that he forgot to do was tighten up rear trans mount. I went back and told him this, all he said was your right I did forget that. I gave him a good tip. Runs great and no noise. At this point Ford is Ok with me.

Does it seem to run any better/different?
Ford has had my trust for a while now.

Runs as good as my 99 engine, I have not got into it yet it only has 103 miles on it. After the first 1,000 miles and an oil change I will let you know. It has different injectors and intake.

What engine did you have? If it was a 4.6l, was it a windsor or romeo? I think my Romeo 4.6l might have Piston Slap.

Had my '99 5.4L replaced with a 2000(fresh in the crate)engine from the Windsor plant three months ago. Dealer did a great job. Mine had Cold Start Knock/Piston Slap with the oil leak at the rear of the right head. On mine they removed the 2000 intake manifold(including the injectors)and the exhaust manifolds and installed the intake/exhaust manifold(s) from the '99. From previous posts, some had the change done this way and others with the complete 2000 engine. It looks to me that the early changeouts on the '99 5.4L had transplanted manifolds and now the entire 2000 engine is being installed, with a ground strap relocated from the old aluminum intake and the computer reprogrammed.
Any comments?

They do have to take the manifold off to install the engine, but they should have reistalled it the 2,000 intake and injectors. Was your's replaced with an 2,000 engine

Offroader, believe me, it will ROCK! I just got oil changed at 1050 miles and lit em' up! With cold weather here, I am getting 12-14 MPG. Much better than 10 MPG I got on the first tank of gas after replacement.

You gave it hell after the first oil change, I will stomp it also after my first. It kinda thows you off looking at the speedometer and seeing 6,000 miles but engine only has less then 200, kinda hard to keep your foot out of it.
