Wink Screw Amsoil - USE REDLINE!!!

I have not found ANY info on Amsoil like I found at Redline (http://www.redlineoil.com/whyoil.htm)

Redline costs about the same but appears to be much better!!! At least they explain the differences, pros-cons, etc...

Convinced me... I used to use Redline in my Z28 - LT1 because I raced it....

I was going to look into Amsoil but I am not convinced their product is better!

Cool

Dude, I don't use amsoil, but all the information you can possibly want is at their website that msparks post's on here all the time. And to tell you the truth the oil specs are good enough that I'm considering switching all of my fluids to amsoil. I haven't looked at the redline, but I will check it out.

Cool

Wow, what an intense caption--"Screw Amsoil"
Whatever---I could of course share several things regarding Amsoil however, one really sticks out in my mind.

I'm a dealer of Amsoil and as I have stated in the past, I don't push the sale of it to people not because it's not good but rather I find that most still are ingrained in the buy cheap and change often philosphy.

I really became a dealer so that I could get access to the product.

I was attending a SEMA show in Las Vegas (where I live) and noticed that Redline had a very attractive booth at the show. I casually went over on the premise to hear what they had in terms of product.

I told them that I didn't know too much about synthetics so that I didn't have to listen to sales pich but, I asked if they had heard of a company called Amsoil.

Two of the reps from Redline asked if I was familiar with Amsoil and I stated yes---They stated that they "Redline" could not make any claims to top Amsoil. Not because they felt their product was inferior rather because Amsoil was a premier Company with a very respected product in the Synthetic Market.

The only difference in their opinion was the approach taken to Synthetic base stocks. One approach that Amsoil had taken followed those lubricants designed for aircraft conditions. Redline developed theirs for automobiles. I don't want to mislead anyone by that statement. He was talking base-stocks. Not that the product was not designed for a vehicle, it is.

I just thought that I would share this with those that think one is any better or worse than the other. Again, oil is a matter of choice---Guys like me regardless of agreeing or disagreeing with the opionions of others must respect that---Regards to all,

Rand, when I had a documented, ligitimate Beef with a company, I did not say "Screw Them, go here or buy this", I instead stated my case, and let people use their heads to decide how best the use that information. https://www.f150online.com/f150board...ML/000912.html

Making a blanket statement such as yours, may invite the wrong type of responses and would appear to assume that we can not make rational decisions for ourselves.
Maybe a better title for your topic would have been: "Which Premiun Brand of synthetic do you prefer?" Followed by your opinions. There are a lot of products I don't like, but I doubt if I would say "screw that product", unless I had proof that the product was in fact inferior, and had actually caused damage. A product simply not being superior in your opinion, doesn't mean it sucks.
I think I know what you meant, but you may get better results using better language.

Heavens to Betsy, you can't even use the word 'screw' without the PC police hunting you down & flogging you like a dirty dog. I mean, sheesh, what are things coming to when you aren't allowed to use a buffoonish, but attention grabbing title?

Red face

Ladies, ladies...... I used an "attention" grabbing topic to get responses! How many times have you posted topics that get 0 response?

Sorry if I offended some of you. I am basically starting a conversation based on the premis that I believe that Amsoil is not as good as Redline. So many people are jumping on this Amsoil band-wagon that I thought perhaps we should take a closer look at this miracle oil!
It appears to me that Amsoil "IS" a fine product, no doubt! However, when given the price, availability, and product facts I found Redline to be a better product!
Besides, we will never know if one is truely better than the other!!! If one ran Redline for 250K with no probs and another ran 240K with no probs... Who won? I'm sure either product will more than sufficiently do the job!

I was basically sick of hearing Amsoil, Schmamsoil!

My 2.5 cents!

Reyes,

It was not the word "screw" that was objectionable at all. It was the unjustified
and uninformed use of it to bash a well respected product.

There are more gentlemanly options to gain attention to a post.

Since Rand has clarified his point and relayed his apologies I think we all know that Redline, Amsoil, Mobil 1, etc. are top shelf products.

If you're really sick of hearing about something do what I do, don't read the topics.
