hi im a newbie here but need some help I purchased a 2011 F150 with 67000 miles on it and my 30 day is coming up, but my motor ticks but not all the time ive checked oil and it was on low side so added quart but noticed it ticking again but not all the time, is this common with the 5.0s I know my 2000 5.4 ticked but ran good any help would be appreciated thanks jeff

 

Some ticking will be normal. That is the fuel injectors and timing chain making it rounds.

Take a video and post it up, and folks will be able to tell you.

 

I took video but had probs loading on putor but been hearing issues with #4 cylinder warping, its weird it doesn't always do it, even at start ups, but anyway im under the 30 days and taking it back to get issue checked and fixed

 

Noises are hard to diagnose sometimes. I've been fooled more than once. Post a video of the noise and we will try to help.

 

just an update there were issues with a stretch or flex belt in early year 2011 5.0s and they have a belt tensioner kit they installed to diagnose to problem and if it still ticks and knocks its an internal engine issue which was my case they exchange or upgraded me and I got a 2013 F150 thanks for help
