Engine starter relay on 2000s without covers

Engine starter relay on 2000s without covers
Has anyone else noticed that the 2000s are being shipped without any sort of cover over the starter relay (located under the hood, behind the battery and right behind the oil filler cap)? The day I picked my truck up..I noticed this..questioned it...and first found out that none of the 2000's had it.
EVERY 2000 that I have looked at... at 4 dealerships does not have this cover. Every 97-99 has it..and my 98 had a square version of it.
I went to a nearby FORD dealer to check on this..and it took the parts department a few minutes to find the part number..which is (99-00): XL3Z-14A099-FA The cost for me was $17.00 + tax.. and I do plan on submitting a letter or phone call to FORD about this.
My concern is that dirt, water, and crud will get onto this relay and corrode it.

You're absolutly right the '00 models do not come with this cover. I questioned the dealer about this and was told that it was never a problem. Almost all cars have these components exposed also.
He did mention however that a greater concern is water/gunk getting into the fuse box over by the master cylinder. Apparently they've had a number of customers back in the shop due to problems of mud getting in there while off roading.
