Hey, new member here

My truck has been running rough for a while now. It runs fine for a while but starts running pretty rough. Highway speeds are fine but when I come to a stop or shift into reverse it tries (and sometimes will) stall. I've changed the plugs, cleaned the MAF, throttle body, fuel filter and still don't know what. Haven't checked for vac leaks yet but I've been hearing horror stories about cam phasers and I'm hoping that's not it. I'm hoping to get an opinion from the forum members

If it is phasers, what parts am I gonna need? Timing chains, etc? Is there a possibility that the engine is so worn now that its not worth the repairs? I have a old 5.4 motor sitting in the yard from my last truck that died from a moose that I could swap if I have to go that route

Can't remember the codes. Code reader is at my dads who lives an hour away. I do recall a code that said bank 2 over retarded. The rest were misfire codes which i fixed.

And yes its a 3 valve
